EDUCATION FUNDING 

The Education Fund is comprised of monies obtained from EI Rebates via the employer that are held in Trust by Local 33. EI contributions are made by full-time and part-time employees (for STD and LTD). Casual employees do not pay into STD or LTD. Therefore, funding is only made available to those who are in a temporary or permanent FT/PT position. They are not Local 33 funds obtained through union dues and levies.

 Requirements:

• Member of Local 33 (Home site is the Royal Alexandria Hospital)

• Application sent in at least 4 weeks prior to the start of your workshop/course/conference etc - don't forget to include the date

• Minimum 0.4 FTE

• 6 months employment at the time of application in a temporary/permanent part-time or full-time position

What the Education Fund covers:

• Course Tuition/Registration

• Out of town accommodations (hotel and air B&B's will require applicant's name on invoice)

• Travel including airfare, bus,  cab fare, uber, gas (only for courses outside of Edmonton greater area)

• Textbooks
